Blue Spiral

What I know about awareness in my life is that it’s not a one and done type of thing. Awareness begets awareness. A little spark grows and touches off other little sparks and on-and-on.

That’s not to say that it’s quick. There have been times in my life where the Universe tapped me on the shoulder, whispered in my ear, gave me a little shove and then finally hit me over the head with a two-by-four. Other times, I suddenly get an awareness and I’m able to adjust my thinking, behavior, and/or attitude right then and there.

I feel that awareness is mostly a spiritual thing that encompasses body, mind, and spirit.

Sometimes it’s an inner voice that quietly says, “oh, I get it. I need to do this”. Sometimes it is a gut feeling that maybe I shouldn’t take my usual route to work or that there is just something off about the person I just met.

What I do know is that there is no “I’m finally aware, I’m done now”. These realizations and feelings will continue to happen. It is one of the paths to wisdom, along with learning, and experience. Meditation has helped me listen and feel when I need to and release the junk when I need to.
